Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often should I schedule maintenance for my HVAC system?

For optimal performance, we recommend scheduling maintenance twice a year—once in the Spring before cooling season and once in the Fall before heating season.

Q: My system is not working, should I have maintenance?

No, there is no reason to clean a broken system; instead, you need a service call to diagnose your system and resolve issues prior to maintenance.

Q: Is preventative maintenance a guarantee one won’t ever have a breakdown or need a service call?

Unfortunately, no. Maintenance cannot assure you will never have an interruption in service; if you do, you simply call for service, and those are billable calls.

Q: How often should I change my air filter?

Every scenario is different, but the best rule of thumb is to check to change your 1” air filter monthly when you receive your electric bill. If the filter is thicker than 1”, you will likely get 3-6 months out of the filter, but it should be checked quarterly.

Q: Can I perform HVAC maintenance myself?

While some basic tasks like replacing filters can be done by homeowners, a licensed professional should handle more complex inspections of maintenance to ensure safety and effectiveness.
